MY HOME RENOVATION
We have been known to buy a major fixer upper or two, have buyer’s remorse, but survive the remodel and love it at the end.
So here we went again!
This time we were looking to downsize from our last home. We wanted bedrooms on the main, in a large community with amenities, and at the right price…we found it but it needed a bit of work!
Looking from the living room towards the front door… we replaced the single door with double doors, replaced the railing, opened the wall to the left of the foyer into the dining room, redid the columns, painted the paneling by the stairs, new floors and fixtures.
The kitchen was a complete gut out and redesign. We opened a wall and added an island, replaced cabinets, backsplash, and all the appliances. I added floating shelves by the window to display colorful accessories, my grandmother’s coffee grinder, and to keep my every day glasses handy.
Other work included redoing the bathrooms, flooring throughout, removing all the popcorn ceilings, and painting.
It was a big remodel but we are loving simplified one level living! and I got a brand new home office for all my fabric books and other samples.
